This Week's Combined Family Den Activity

[ Noticia en Espanol]

This week we will be having a combined den family activity starting at 1pm at the  Desert Woodland Preserve  in place of our combined den meeting. We will be gathering at  the Skinner Den Home at 12:20 pm  with the families who choose to leave Palmdale together. Please remember to bring sack lunches and a water bottle for each member of your family. Additional water to drink will be provided.

Today and during the rest of this week, our boys will be focusing on working on the homework assignments that will help them reach their next rank specific achievement.

Next week, we will be meeting at one of our cub scout's home. The location will be announced and posted on Sunday. Please help your cubscout remember to bring their Regatta boats, swimwear and gear, a towel, and a change of clothing.  Don't worry about the width of your cub's boats, since the Regatta lanes will be 6ft wide. All family members are welcome to attend this den meeting.

Cubs have until the 14th of this month to complete assignments needed to earn achievements they want to be recognized for during our September pack meeting.

For information regarding individual homework assignments, please create an engrade account with the link emailed to you last week, and then view and complete one of the rank related assignments (be sure to view the downloads or some of the assignments will not be able to be completed or will not make sense). In addition, all cubs may work on the extra credit assignments needed to earn the beltloops we have (or will have) partially completed in our den by the end of this month.

If your cub has completed all the assignments, please work with your cub in determining what you will focus on completing this month together.

Combined Den Meeting Rescheduled

Cubscouts this week has been rescheduled for Thursday Aug. 22nd, at the Stake Center. We will begin our meeting at 6:30pm in the primary room. We will also be attending the Court of Honor at 7pm. Please bring your books or a list of the items/achievments completed if you need us to pass off anything.

If you are unable to attend, please contact iether Trevor (Bear) or Myself (Wolf/Bear) this week so we can discuss this week's activities and assist you with personalized and group progress goals.  P1st/Esperanza Webelos can contact me for assistance for the time being. I will be adding Webelos resources to the website to assist our Webelos and their families in working on achievements. In the mean time, a good resource to reference is the US Scouting- Webelos Advancement Webpage.

I have extended the deadline for reporting achievements to this Saturday. Anything completed after this point will be awarded next month. Also, we will be having a short trial run of the Rain Gutter Regatta, probably next Tuesday at 6:30pm, and our Rain Gutter Regatta Activity on Wednesday at the same time. Please have your boats ready for the trial so you can correct any problems with your boat before the Regatta. If you need a boat and have not stopped by the Den Home to pick up your Rain Gutter Regatta Kit last week. I will have them with me tonight. They are $5.00.

See you tonight!,
Sister Skinner
